The Energy Education Mobile ( PDF 2.4 MB) has four interactive learning stations described below that include individual and group activities. The stations teach students about Alberta’s energy resources and energy efficiency and meet outcomes in the Grade 4 Science and Social Studies curriculum.
This touch screen computer game teaches students about where Alberta’s energy resources come from, how they get to us and how they are used.

Using a handheld scanner and books of cards representing how electricity is used in the home, students evaluate a number of choices and select actions to reduce electricity consumption.
Using arrow magnets, students first identify areas of heat loss and air leaks on a large magnet board house. Students then place a variety of picture magnets representing actions that can be taken to prevent heat loss and air leaks.
The goal of this activity is to reinforce what students have learned at the previous three stations. Using markers and a whiteboard, the challenge is to spot the differences between sets of images and identify the energy saving tips.
