Alberta's Energy Landscape
Using a touch-screen computer game, the participants learn about the types of energy resources in Alberta including where the resource comes from, how it gets to us and how it is used.
Electricity: Using it wisely
Using a scanner and flash cards, students identify actions they can take to reduce electricity use in their home.
Heat: Keeping it in
Using picture magnets, the participants must identify the various areas in a house where heat can be lost and the ways to prevent heat loss.
Energy Efficiency Detective
The goal of this activity is to reinforce what the participants have learned throughout the previous stations. The challenge is to spot the difference between images that are energy efficient and those that are not.
For Teachers
The Energy Education Mobile was developed in consultation with Alberta teachers to align with Grade 4 Alberta curriculum. Topics are designed to tie in strongly with Science and Social Studies but also encourage inquiry-based learning and critical thinking.
